Positive Development in Patient Comfort and Care
Review by
The Huntington's Bed, with its fully padded interior and exterior, represents a significant improvement over the previous mesh & foam-panelled bed system. This updated design has effectively reduced the risk of abrasions and discomfort that were previously caused by the mesh.

One noteworthy benefit is how this change has enhanced the patient's comfort and emotional well-being. Rachel, his wife, Facetimes him every evening and often notes how relaxed he appears—frequently lying back with his arm casually behind his head, a posture that suggests increased comfort and ease.

While the absence of mesh netting does mean staff can no longer observe him from the doorway, this has had an unexpectedly positive effect. It necessitates staff entering the room fully during checks, rather than relying on a passing glance. This increased level of direct interaction has been beneficial, fostering more meaningful engagement and potentially improving the quality of care.
